I know, I know, it’s a little late to be putting up my June favourites, but time seems to just be going so quickly at the moment, I don’t feel like I’ve even had a chance to catch my breath – anyone else feel like this at the moment? I promise next month I’ll be more on the ball… well, I’ll try at least!
Anyways, June was a really great month for me, with lots of exciting things going on (you can read all about the things I got up to here), and I also found a few new favourites that I thought I would share with you all. There’s a bit of a mixed bag to be honest with you – a couple of beauty bits, mixed up with some home, fashion and lifestyley bits too, so sorry if this is a bit boring for some of you! But if you’re interested in seeing what I’ve loved this last month, then keep on reading…
First up are a couple of beauty items that I have been seriously loving.
I have to admit, I’ve tried many, many primers over the years, and struggled to find one I really like and works well for me – my skin can be really oily so I need a primer that leaves my skin looking matte, as well as moisturised. So I tried the Nude Magique Blur Cream not really expecting too much – and ended up really surprised at how well it worked for me. It left my skin feeling amazingly smooth and poreless, but with a matte sheen that stayed really and helped to keep my makeup in place all day. Winner. And of course, this Anatomicals lip balm in Never Lose Your Cherry – easily one of my favourite flavours of lip balms, and also leaves my lips super soft and smelling A-mazing. Yum.
I also upgraded my phone last month, which gave me the exciting task of finding a new phone case – sad I know, but I genuinely get excited about this stuff. I found this little Acrylic Pineapple iPhone6 Case from Skinnydip London and instantly fell in love. Gold? Check. Pineapples? Check. Cannot stop staring at it.
Wardrobe-wise, these little rose gold sandals from Dorthy Perkins are without doubt the best thing I bought this month. They’re the perfect colour for summer, and the little heel make them perfect for dressing up on holiday, or heading out for dinner without needing huge platforms. They’re also now reduced to £15- go get them. You won’t regret it.
So for anyone who follows me on Instagram, you may already know that I have a bit of an obsession with candles. My house is literally full of them – but this Yankee Candle in Strawberry Buttercream is pretty special… mostly because it. just. smells. insane. If you love super sweet scents like I do then this is for you.
I’ve been buying a whole load of bits for around the home this month, so picking favourites was hard, but these two had to be included. Firstly, I saw this “C’est la Vie” print from Society6 on Pinterest ages ago and had to have it. It’s such a cute print, and fits really well into the print collage I’m working on for our bedroom (I’ll share details soon), so really glad I bit the bullet and got it.
Secondly, this little (not so little) stag ornament from Dunelm. I have a bit of a thing for choosing anything stag/deer themed, so when I saw this, I knew it would be perfect for our living room. We have lots of little bits and pieces on our shelving, but we’ve been looking for more things that are bigger to mix it up a bit, and this ornament is just what we were after.
I’ve bought quite a few new things for my wardrobe this month, but this little blue dress from Forever21 is easily one of my favourites. It’s not normally a colour I’d go for, but I wanted to inject some brighter colours into my wardrobe and instantly loved this dress. The fit is super flattering, and it makes me feel really girly when I’m wearing it.
My final beauty favourite is a perfume that I’ve been lusting after for months – La Vie Est Belle. It isn’t my usual sort of scent, but I really love it – it’s bit more grown up than the sweet, girly scents I tend to stick with, but it’s perfect for nights out, or days when I want something girly, but not too overly sweet or floral.
Finally (and before I bore you all to death) my last favourite has to be Get The Glow, by Madeleine Shaw. I bought this a few weeks ago after seeing so many other bloggers raving about it. I wasn’t sure if it would be worth the hype, but having tried out a few of the recipes, and read it front to back, I can honestly say it is 100% worth investing in. Madeleine’s style of writing is so friendly, and she really speaks with passion about food – add to that, the recipes (or the ones that I’ve tried) are amazing, and unlike some healthy eating books, they mostly use really simple ingredients that you can find in most supermarkets, which makes it much more accessible to people who can’t get to healthy food markets etc. If you’re keen to make your diet healthier, then this is definitely worth a read.
I hope you’ve liked my monthly favourites. What have you guys been loving this month?
