Huge Scrapbooking & Crafts Haul

So I’ve been on a bit of a mad spending spree lately – and no, I’ve not been splurging on clothes or makeup (for once!). Instead, I’ve been buying all kinds of gorgeous little scrapbooking bits and pieces, from Project Life card insert kits, to chipboard shapes, foil rub-ons and all sorts of other things, including my recent subscription to Messy Box which you can read about here.

Long story short, I’ve gotten really into scrapbooking since last Christmas, and became a bit bored with some of my old scrapbooking stuff, so thought I’d switch it up and find some really cute new things to add (FYI there is SO MUCH amazing stuff out there, hence the splurge).

So anyways, I thought I’d share with you all some of the things I’ve bought!

Project Life Sampler Kits

Okay, so I bought quite a few of these. I have previously bought one of the Project Life Core Kits, but found it to be quite expensive, and a little too many cards in the same theme in my opinion, so once I’d used a few, I started to get a little bored of the same colours/styles. These Project Life Sampler Kits that I found at Hey Little Magpie are the perfect alternative. You get around 50 cards in each kit – a mixture of 6×4 and 3×4 cards usually, and they’re much cheaper at about £3.75 for each pack. I’ve found these to be so much better, and even though you don’t know exactly which cards you’ll be sent, I’ve been so happy with all of the ones I’ve had.

First up, Southern Weddings edition

A swoon-worthy kit that is actually designed with weddings in mind, but I bought it because I just loved the colours and although some cards are very wedding-specific, most are much more generally-romantic and cute-themed than wedding-y. I also had a couple of friend’s weddings to add to my scrapbook, so this was perfect for that. It’s full of pastel pinks blues, floral patterns and super sweet quotes. Uber-girly, but I love it.

Next, Midnight edition

Midnight is a much bolder style, with lots of stark black and white patterns, and pops of bright yellow. This one is a great kit if, like me, you love monochrome and want simple, but chic designs, without too much fuss. While I love a good bit of pastel, sometimes it’s nice to have something more basic, which lets any photos or text really stand out. I love this set.

Inspire edition

The Inspire theme I fell in love with straight away – it has really sweet pastel colours, mixed with bolder, watercolour fonts and the most adorable little illustrations. I’ve already used so many of these and can imagine I’ll finish the whole set off in no time at all!

Adventure edition

Finally, the Adventure theme is a little different, with sketch style illustrations and vintage style fonts and colours. The whole theme (oddly enough) is about adventure, which I thought would be perfect for when I scrapbook about any holidays or travels. There are also some really inspiring quotes and lovely camera sketches that I’m pretty excited to use.

Scrapbooking Accessories

So in addition to the sampler kit cards, I also wanted to get some extra little embellishment bits to add something a bit different to my scrapbook.

First up, and technically more a part of a card kit are these 4×4 square cards that are part of the Inspire edition. I switched up my Project Life page protectors with some that have square pockets, so wanted to get some cards designed specifically, instead of having to trim 6×4 cards. I love the style of these again, and have already used quite a few of them!

I also picked up these little gold foil rub-ons from the Project Life collection. So easy to use, and add a little something extra to any photos or cards. I think I’ve used all of these already, so will no doubt be buying more very soon! Both the 4X4 set and Foil Rub-ons were from Hey Little Magpie – a shop that I am now obsessed with! If you love to craft, then this shop is perfect!

Then, I got a few random bits from Amazon… First up, (clockwise from left) the Dear Lizzie Neapolitan Chipboard Shapes – these are really simple cute little shapes, featuring lots of hearts, bows, jars and some little quotes. These make really sweet additions to a scrapbook page, or homemade card. Super cute.

Next, the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book Accent & Phrase Stickers (right)is one of my favourite purchases. These stickers are such good quality, and there is such a nice variety of shapes and sizes. I’ve used tons of these already and will finish them soon enough I’m sure!

The Amy Tangerine Stitched Bits Die-Cuts I bought because I loved the colours and styles of die-cuts, and when I got them, I was really pleasantly surprised at the quality of them. There are also tons of these – I would’ve shown a picture of them because I really love these, but I’ve used so many of them already!

Then I got another board set – this time the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Open Book 12×12 Self-adhesive Chipboard Set – which is similar to the other Maggie Holmes Open Book set (obviously, as they are the same set), but with different images. These also come in a much thicker, sturdy chipboard. I mean, these are really thick – which can be tricky when you’re putting them on papers to go into pocket pages, as these add an extra like 6mm of depth. But I really like these – they’re such good quality and add something totally different to scrapbook pages.

Finally, my last purchase was actually a mini-kit of cards. I loved this little kit as soon as I saw it, and actually wish I’d gone for a larger set, as I’ve used all of these cards already – they’re just so pretty! Anyways, this is the Becky Higgins Project Life ‘Be Bright’ edition. It’s full of bright, but muted pops of colour, gold foil detailing and the sweetest quotes. I love love love this set.

So that’s what I’ve been buying – I hope you’ve enjoyed! What craft stores do you guys shop at? I’d love any recommendations!
