5 Places In Europe For Some Winter Sun

The ‘great British summer’ is coming to an end and if you are anything like me you’re already thinking about booking your next trip to get those last few rays. Not only are there some beautiful places in Europe to catch some Autumn/Winter sun but there are some great deals to be had. So what are you waiting for? Here are 5 great places to get some Sun over the next couple of months..

Algarve, Portugal

The Algarve is a beautiful slice of the Portuguese coast and offers average highs of 23- 24º throughout October. It is Portugal’s premier tourism spot so can get extremely crowded in the summer months, leaving October and onwards the perfect time to explore. With it’s picturesque beaches set amongst breathtaking cliffs and magical coves this is the perfect place to unwind. If the lively party atmosphere the Algarve has on offer isn’t for you then don’t worry you don’t need to venture far to find quiet cobbled towns with beautiful views.

You’ll find great deals with Easyjet Holidays for October dates.

Sardinia, Italy

Sardinia is best visited after the Summer rush, when most tourists have left the Island. The sandy white beaches could be mistaken for that of a tropical paradise and the Island is best enjoyed at the coastal areas. You’ll find average highs of 22º throughout October.

Santorini, Greece

Beautiful Santorini is a top travel destination for many people and when you look at the dreamy views it has to offer it’s easy to see why. Those famous white and blues make for a beautiful reflection come sunset and to top it off you can also enjoy a relaxing time at some of the most picturesque beaches Europe has to offer. Santorini also offers fantastic cuisine, amazing wines and a bustling nightlife. You’ll find average temps of 23º in October.

The Turkish Riviera, Turkey

Okay so technically this country is part Europe/part Asia but it offers some of the best deals for a Winter sun holiday so it can’t be missed out!
The Turkish riviera offers some of the highest temperatures in Europe throughout October, with an average high of 26º! The riviera is within southwest Turkey and you’ll find great deals in the provinces of Antalya and Muğla.

Canary Islands

From Tenerife to Gran Canaria, Lanzarote to La Palma this Spanish Archipelago has so much to offer. Located 62 miles west of the southern boarder of Morocco these beautiful islands enjoy a warm climate all year round. Whether you’re looking for beautiful beaches, breathtaking views or world heritage sights (Tenerife offers the third tallest volcano in the world!), you have so much choice- all you need to do is pick the island that’s perfect for you!
